Why the first generation Murcielago might be the best Supercar.

We all have alot of opinions about cars we sometimes express here on CT and sometimes not. This right here will be my opinion on what i consider the ultimate supercar although it’s supported by some interesting and awesome facts.

The car in question is the first generation Lamborghini Murcielago (2002-2003/4). The reason this car is number one among supercars for me? Lets see…

First things first. The car is powered by a 6.2L V12 N/A engine producing 580 BHP and sending all those horses to all four wheels thru a 6-speed manual (gated) shifter.

It reaches 0-100 KPH in a little under 3.7 seconds and with a top speed of 330 Km/h (something a bit over 200 MPH) it has earned the title of ‘pretty damn fast’.

Badass 70 degrees wing-like flaps that start stealing extra air when opened at higher speeds.

Need i say more?

… Oh and ofcourse what is a lambo without those doors! cough Gallardo cough Harucan cough … Should probably get some water for this nasty cough.

Now all jokes aside guys when taking in consideration all these things i just mentioned what do you get from it … Well …? I bet half of you or maybe even more would say well Filip you just showed us a car that is not that crazy impressive these days no more. While the other half might realize that this car rides on both sides of the line… The line representing a border between classic supercar ‘rawness’ and modern speedhunting technology and styling.

Sure, some other models and even brands came to mind like the Diablo, and the first generation of the R8 but this is it for me no doubt.

The car borrows all that was good in the past, all the way from the Miura to the Countach to its big bro the Diablo. While at the same time it has a huge amount of styling, streamlines and technical advances we see in todays supercars like the Aventador just to name a specific one.

i hope you guys enjoyed my post, let me know what your thoughts are on this matter. Do you think i just plainly made Lambo look like the only supercar that had influence in the past and present or do you think i have a point?

Compleatly understand what your talking about my friend, however I’ll express my own opinion and say that my favourite supercar is the Mercedes SLS.

Because -

  1. Merc’s greatest engine with just the right amount of power and torque

  2. Gullwing doors that heart back to the 300SL

  3. Just freaking awesome!!

Absolutely love the SLS.

As you said it takes back alot from older models so it has some heritage. But to me the most amazing thing about the SLS is that its made in a modern era where they could have went with a smaller sized turbo engine and get better results even but were like nah screw that a 6.2 V8 will do just damn fine!
