1988 Dodge Aries-K
Slated for a built Chrysler 2.5L Turbo and A555 transplant, est. to produce 300HP and 300ft/lbs… vs the stock 2.2L with 100HP… This car weighs 1050kg stock :)
Driveline and brakes also beign replaced with 1989/90 Daytona Shelby components - direct swap!
In part hunting and collecting mode for now

Build Plans…
Extract the stock 2.2L TBI Automatic and entire driveline for:
1989 Chrysler 2.5L Turbo Motor upgraded with forged pistons, keeping stock crank and rods as they are strong enough for my expected power levels (300HP / 300ftlbs).
Stock 782 SOHC Cylinder Head, ported and upgraded with an undetermined more aggressive cam, PT Cruiser lifters (quieter valvetrain), factory turbo valves.
Turbo choice undetermined at this time, perhaps a T3/T4 Garrett Hybrid
Transmission - Chrysler A555 rebuilt with Moly/Chrome bearing plate to withstand higher torque loads, these are built with Getrag gears and need no other upgrades for higher power levels
Driveline - Complete underneath donated from a 1990 Dodge Daytona Shelby, all direct bolt one. This upgrades brakes to 11” Vented Disc front and rear (including brake booster and prop. valve upgrade), stronger k-frame and control arms, better wheel bearing design, larger swaybar and rear track bar, stiffer struts and rear springs. As well a Daytona Shelby steering rack for tighter steering and one less rotation (2.5) lock to lock.
Fuel system will be 255lph fuel pump, 40%+ Injectors
SMEC (ECU) Stage IV Boost Button @ 20psi+
Rims will be factory Chrysler “Crab” 15” aluminium wheels found on 1987-1988 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z’s
Other goods… solid bobble strut (rear transmission mount), polyurethane filled factory rubber engine mounts, redone wiring,
wideband, boost gauge.
Paint, thinking two tone black and gold on the bottom, gold rims with polished lips or midnight blue and silver on the bottom.

That thing’s gonna be sick
Love these things, ‘80s Chrysler corp. cars don’t get enough credit
Thanks Hondo I’m looking forward to the build as its my dream car haha
How is your electrical system? Mine is really faulty…
No problems for me on this car, but I will be rewiring it from scratch for the turbo motor going in it and replacing the fusible links with a modern pacific fuse and relay system out of a mid 90s jeep cherokee
