So why this over a Golf R? Just interested what made you choose the Audi.

The Golf is cheaper, and they are essentially the same car. At least I am assuming the Golf is cheaper. At least it is a few thousand cheaper then an S3 here in the States. We also don’t get the hatch S3, only the sedan. Which makes a bit more sense why you would get one over the other.

Great question. The Golf R is a great car but for me there is too many of them around (to common on the road). The S3 just seems to be a little bit more special.
