4 Reasons Dirt 3 is the best Rally Game
As we know Dirt Rally is soon coming to the Xbox one and PS4 and I am a huge fan of the Dirt Series and personally I have not owned Dirt Rally on PC due to not having a gaming PC (that’s short for being broke) but I did play it at a friend’s place. Dirt Rally is a really hard and difficult game and we’ll see what they do for the console version so an idiot like me doesn’t crash after every two corners but anyway we were talking about Dirt 3. Personally I love Dirt 3 and in my opinion is that it is one of the best rally/racing game of all time. Here’s why:
1.The Graphics and attention to Detail
Dirt 3 has some of the best graphics that the series has ever had, I admit Dirt 2 was a bit more vibrant but Dirt 3’s settings gives this sense of intensity and you get fully immersed into the surroundings. The bushes in the dirt of Kenya to the Norway rally service area’s snow covered house, everything is just so beautiful. Not forgetting the crashes and the impact it had on cars, first the windshield gets cracked and then goes right off depending on the intensity of the crash.
2. The Variety of Events
Dirt 3 had a variety of events from Trailblaze to Gymkhana, it had everything you wanted. You can show off your drifting skills in gymkhana at one moments and at another you could push your car to every inch to get that fraction of a second less time to beat your opponent in Rally. Personally, my favorite were the Landrush Buggies, I know they were in Dirt 2 as well but they felt completely different and were a lot harder to handle in Dirt 3. Back to the point of drifting, I totally forgot to mention the separate drifting events, they were quite difficult to master at first but when you did, the feeling was just great.
3. The Amazing Cars
This game had probably the best set of cars that you wanted to play around with. I admit all the trucks were the same, unlike Dirt 2 they didn’t give us that many trucks to play around with which to be honest I was a bit disappointed about but none the less, it was still a pretty enjoyable experience. The Tacoma from the Trailblaze was an amazing car to play with, it had so much power and utilizing it on the rally course was challenging but so much fun. Then there were the Gymkhana cars, the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s cars out of which I loved the Mini Cooper with the green livery, it was Mr Bean rally car for me and the Lancia Delta. There was just so much that I can’t even remember them all.
4. The Replays
Last but not the least, the Replays. The replays of this game were the best I had ever seen, they are still better than almost every game that is currently on. Even Forza 6’s replays are so bad, the car glitches everywhere and everything just seems horrendous and then there is Dirt 3. The replay captured each and every angle and even if your driving was worse than my brother trying to bowl in cricket, you would still feel special. All in all, I loved every moment of this game and it never failed to entertain me. Thank You Codemasters.

This guy knows his stuff
I have Dirt 3 on Xbox 360. I’m typically very good at racing games, but even this one took some serious practice to get good at it. Even now I have plenty of room to grow and I’ve had it 6 months. I love it though and everything this guy wrote is true.
Also, the only thing I feel is missing is being able to build your own car. If they had put that in there, it would be amazing.
Well, we can’t do that in these sort of games but it would be a pretty cool Idea to be able to. Still they allow some sort of freedom with changing the gear ratios and etc in the service area at the beginning of the race, which is a feature I am quite fond of as well.
One of the reasons i still have a ps3 is dirt 3 😉
Xbox gave me retrocompatibility, so I can play it on the one
No, Dirt Rally is the best Rally game
Yes it is!
I get it where you are coming from but Dirt Rally at this current moment is a game for people who have the money to build a grand PC and with a grand setup and have a lot of time but for somebody like me and most of the guys on Car Throttle who can’t afford all of that due to the lack of money and time, this is the game we can all play, it will even run smoothly on your core i5 laptop and a couple of bucks on a controller or a controller from your 360 will do the job with handling and you will enjoy the game with all it’s glory. Personally, I will see what Dirt Rally will offer to us on the next Gen as I personally got an Xbox One as a gift and thanks to Xbox for bringing this game on the Xbox One and giving it to us for free, I will be able to see the differences made to the game. I don’t disagree with you at all, Dirt Rally is a great game and I’ll be open to see what it will offer to me.
I don’t agree because I played Dirt 3 with a wheel but I could use a keyboard too but in Dirt Rally the keyboard doesn’t work so well
Dirt Rally does have better physic than Dirt 3, but I still feel Dirt 3 is more fun to play.
I play with a nice setup but find it too challenging and I drift on ac
I’m so glad they added this to backwards compatibility list for Xbox One
Aaaaaaand unrealistic wide rally tracks. This game is good but, come on, it’s unrealistic
And the most sensitive steering. I used steering assist for a log time because of that. I took it of now for Xbox one but I still crash more than I race.
You can play DiRT 3 with X360 in the compatibility?
You can play it on the Xbox One, it’s backwards compatible.
Really extremely retar ded list.
All of these points are not important.
The Collin McRae Rally games are better than this Monster Energy advert.
Lol Re tarded is a prohibited word.

Please respect everybody’s opinion even if you do not agree, we are on Car Throttle, not facebook. Cheers :)
The best part is that the full version with all the DLCs was released to those who owned it on Steam.
