I would love to do this if i ever buy a gt86 but i would get individual throttle bodys for a more raspy sound

Actually if he puts individual intakes/ throttle bodies, better exhaust, more aggressive cams, and a few more things while raising the red line slightly it will be faster than the original engine. The flat 4 has 155 lbs ft of torque. He’ll get more torque out of the 4a-ge after that. Will it be worth it? Probably not as much as tuning the original engine, but it’ll be a fun car to play with.

oh yeah and the 4AGE noise is unique. sometimes even a car with low power but high RPM can be just as enjoyable as a high power car, i’ve experienced it with a civic SIR, they are not super powerful but so fun to rev out to 8000RPM
