why would you put a more than 20 year old engine, with less power, higher center of gravity? seriously cannot understand it!
the sounds and the feels bro
nice
It’s not a downgrade. It’s not an upgrade, it’s his love for the AE86 and its predecessor :)
I would love to do this if i ever buy a gt86 but i would get individual throttle bodys for a more raspy sound
It’s not a gt86 it’s a scion frs
now swap it with an ls or 2jz
you sir are a legend :D
Ok… Not into GT86’s but I wanna see more progress of this!
ive been searching for this build but i haven’t found more
Actually if he puts individual intakes/ throttle bodies, better exhaust, more aggressive cams, and a few more things while raising the red line slightly it will be faster than the original engine. The flat 4 has 155 lbs ft of torque. He’ll get more torque out of the 4a-ge after that. Will it be worth it? Probably not as much as tuning the original engine, but it’ll be a fun car to play with.
oh yeah and the 4AGE noise is unique. sometimes even a car with low power but high RPM can be just as enjoyable as a high power car, i’ve experienced it with a civic SIR, they are not super powerful but so fun to rev out to 8000RPM
