6 Reasons Why The Porsche 911 GT3/GT3 RS is The Best Track-Prepped Car

I am a huge Porsche fan and having the opportunity to work for them in Stuttgart is an absolute honor to me. With their flagship model, the 911, Porsche have made a lot of versions of it from generation to generation. One of those versions are the GT3 and the GT3 RS, the lightest, most track-focused 911 that you can get straight out of Zuffenhausen. Because of that, the GT3/GT3 RS is my all time favorite 911 variant. Here are some of the reasons why I absolutely love them.

1. They come quite cheap
Cheap? Yeah. Well, not really. $70k to be exact. 996 generation 911 have been depreciating like crazy. And the GT3 is one of them. $70k for a track ready car? Yeah, I’m in! Parts and maintenance aren’t exactly what I call cheap but, they’re okay when you compare them to a 360 Modena, its main rival from Maranello. The grip that it has is magnificent. A car that is as good as a Ferrari for just $70k!!

2. How They Perform
Handling is amazing, sound is amazing, gearbox is amazing, and a whole lot of other amazing stuff that I can go on and on and on for a whole decade. The cornering is just really precise and it will just grip. It is one of the best handling cars that I ever driven. You have the confidence and the car will tell you “Go, go, I can do this, you got to push it. Come on!” every time you go.

3. The Looks
All of the 911 looks beautiful. Subtle and exciting at the same time. The GT3 body kits just made them even better. Big wing for downforce, roll cage, fire extinguisher, splitters, and many more. The regular 911 Carrera and Turbo models have this “gentlemen” looks to it, if that makes sense. But in the GT3, it looks crazier. It’s like a proper racer.

5. The SOUND

6. The practicality for a track car
The picture above prove my point. It has a fair sized trunk. And also seats in the back (if you don’t have the roll cage) so you can fit 4 people. It is also very small. And with the 991’s rear wheel steering, the car is more nimble around tight places around town so, this can be daily driven.
