Can you be a petrolhead by owning a diesel ?

Since I remember myself I am in love with cars.It all starts at the age of 9 when my dad takes me to a track for go cart. That was it .Since then I always want my own cart.Unfortunately my parent’s can’t get me one, so the dream was gone.But the interest about cars it has just begun.After a few years I was buying as many car magazines as I can.At the age of 15 when all of my friends was crazy about motorbikes by owning one and tunning it, I was insisted on cars .I didn’t like them then so I don’t like them now.I was always that we call a ‘’car guy’’.

Finally the day that I was waiting for has arrived.Ι was 18 and it was time to have my driving license.My first ride was my dads car, a 2000 Daewoo Nubira 1.6 .I was so excited that I driving it all day long.It wasn’t something special ,but it was my daily car so i was in love with it.

At the age of 20 it was time to buy my first car.I want it to be a coupe.I always love coupes.I also want it to be Italian.As a kid I have always a Ferrari’s post in my bedroom, but I couldn’t buy a Ferrari so I was looking for an Alfa Romeo!(pretty close)

Ok, the truth is that my parents helped me to buy my first car.But they would not help me with the running costs.So the tax , the insurance, the services and the fuel was all up to me.So a wanted one car that it has to be a coupe and it has to be affordable for daily use.

So I bought a 2007 Alfa Romeo GT with a diesel engine!!!

I own it for five years and i have done 90.000km with it.The car is gorgeous!The handling and also the performance is pretty enough for me.The only thing you have to accept is the noise.We can’t have it all.That’s life, but I can live with it.It’s my daily car ,but almost every Sunday I take it for a ride just to drive it.

I thing that being a petrolhead is much more than just what type of fuel your car is running on.I thing that being a petrolhead is a way of life.

So yes , I believe that you can be a petrolhead by owning a diesel.
