Marc Surer's RS200 Major Crash

At the 1986 ADAC Hessen-Rallye Marc Surer was severely injured and his co-driver and friend Michel Wyder was killed. Marc was a former F1 driver well known for driving for Arrows and March. The car in question was chassis 063 with the registration C200 KWC. Marc lost control of the car on a long right hander which caused the death of his co driver. Due to all the body panels being in composite materials the car quickly burned down to the chassis.

Such a tragedy.. from all the posibilities, they hit that only tree in the field. If they didn’t, the car would have rolled and I think Wyder would still be alive and there wouldn’t be such serius injuries.

could be right but ford had a lot of trouble with the car catching fire in testing and crashes. particularly with the fuel lines being ruptured and catching fire. watch the video on 0.25 speed and you can see what happens
