Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R with a automatic transmisson ? Please read the text below !

Hello,
I have a friend, he lost his leg in an accident and he wants to drive a R34 GT-R but he can’t drive manual cars. And here is my question ! Has Nissan built R34 GT-Rs with a automatic transmission or can we put a automatic transmission in a R34 GT-R ? We know that the GT-T has a automatic transmisson but he wants a real R34 GT-R.

Have a nice day, Impreza58

Nissan stagrea (or however it’s spelt) has a auto that fits straight In the GTR if that helps!

I have seen sequential swaps, don’t know about autos because I think you would have to mess with the computer and other electrical stuff too much, I also once saw a stagea with r34 front swap using an rb25 and an auto trans, I think it was on 7tune fb page, they also sell cars and parts from Japan you could ask in their page for it.

Theoretically, you can actually set the pressure plate, that would be typically your clutch foot pedal, on to your steering wheel. I’ve seen a couple guys do it to several different vehicles. It’s just like a ring that pretty much lays on the inside of your steering wheel, so when it’s time to shift just hit the ring with your thumb or palm and shift with your right hand. It works pretty well

Could go for an r35 gtr, similar price for a second hand one.

Im no expert, but from reading a few comments about your friends needs and what’s out there, I thought of this idea.. can you take the auto gearbox from the GT-T and swap it in for the R34 GTRs manual. I mean they can’t be that different??

Swap the gearbox and diffs from the Nissan Stagea and put it in the r34. The stagea and R34 both have similar gearboxes so it should work. it will take alot of work but anything is possible.

Have a look if you can gut a 4wd stagea for its box, I know they came in automatic and also share a 4wd system with an r34

Get a servo motor, set it up so it presses the clutch when you press a button on the gear stick, problem solved in the cheapest way and i’ll look the tidiest and no power loss or performance loss
