(Poll) What flavour Audi S5 would you get?
V8 4.2 FSI (n/a) vs V6 3.0 (s/c)
V8 -> Wider torque band, better noise and bragging rights
V6 -> Lighter so faster and less weight over the front axle so better driving dynamics (also sounds good)

Actually the supercharged V6 has a much wider torque band. Max torque from 2900 up to 5300 (yay for forced induction).
Also, the V6 can be chipped easily to 400+, whereas the NA/ v8 would require some serious (and expensive mods)
On top of that, the v8 came with a tiptronic (bad) and the V6 was available with the S-tronic dual clutch transmission.
The V6 is faster, more refined, available with (much) better gearbox.. sips fuel compared to the V8.
And on top of that, you can make it sound like this:

Chris harris agrees the v6 in the s4 (identical) is a monster, just watch his RS4 (444bhp 4.2 V8) Vs. V6 supercharged S4 with a chip….
V8 any day of the week. You can’t beat that sound man.
V8, I’m kinda a muscle guy so I <3 v8
V6, mainly because of road tax, but also because the s/c whine XD
Naturally aspirated heaven 😻
No replacement for displacement
I can respect why people prefer v8 and i can relate, however, in this particular comparison v6 is better than most people think it is. It revs fast with a supercharger and it makes the car agile.
Dual clutch transmission is great too. People brought up good points for both sides.
S5 with a v8 is great but s5 with a v6 is superior in many ways imo.
Supercharged please and thank you
V8 because, straight out of the box it makes more horsepower. And that’s WITHOUT forced induction. You could simply add a turbo to the V8 and make more HP. Got ‘em.
v8.
