Should I strip my interior or not?
No matter what, I’m keeping the dashboard. The front seats will be replaced by racing seats, and I’m gonna remove the back seats and put a 4 point roll bar with harnesses. So the question really is should I remove the door panels, carpet, and headliner?

If you want the full race look yeah, but it won’t really shed much weight nothing super noticeable anyway. I wouldn’t I think it looks better with the full interior minus the back seats.
I think I’m just gonna remove the back seats and the carpet for starters, and go from there if I decide to remove more at a later date
Do you plan on tracking this vehicle extensively?
No not really, but the carpet is really annoying me haha
No. If it was a full blown race car yeah. But from what I’ve seen its mechanically stock and shedding 50 pounds wont be noticeable
It won’t be stock for long, I’m hoping to end up with a power to weight ratio better than a Veyron
If it’s solely for racing, then by all means, go right ahead.
Well I am building a racecar, but it’s gonna be on the street mostly
well, for me its up to how much of the interior do you want to be left. if it was me id leave the center console (for armrest), dash and replace front seats. everything else is gone. including the sound deadening
I don’t even know if I have sound deadening to begin with hahaha. I want to leave the dash for sure, and probably the door panels, and strip everything behind that and replace the front seats with something that holds me in better and lets me use harnesses with a roll bar
You gonna daily it? You gonna auto cross it? You going to shows?
Mostly just driving it a couple times a week (2-3) and going to shows, and I have another car so practicality doesn’t really matter to me
Depends. If you plan to take your car to the track frequently, go “weight reduction, bro” to your heart’s content. But if you plan on using it as a daily driver, I strongly suggest not going for that idea. (With a daily driver, you definitely don’t want to yank the A/C out, either. I personally think that the four-point harness is a bit overkill for a daily driver, but that’s just my opinion.)
I don’t even have A/C for starters haha. I only drive the car a couple times a week so I want it to be like my street driven race car if that makes sense
I think the going to shows stripping it would maybe be unnecessary in my opinion.
the bmw?
Yeah, not now but later when I increase the power
If you’re planning on using it just as a race-car/weekender then why not. Every kg lost is an increase in power:weight (regardless of how small).
If you want any kind of comfort left for driving it on the streets tho….. May wanna reconsider.
That’s what I was thinking, besides racing seats and coilovers aren’t the most comfortable anyway haha. I’m just gonna remove things that won’t really affect the looks, so probably gonna remove the carpet/headliner, but not the door panels if that makes sense
