Should I strip my interior or not?

No matter what, I’m keeping the dashboard. The front seats will be replaced by racing seats, and I’m gonna remove the back seats and put a 4 point roll bar with harnesses. So the question really is should I remove the door panels, carpet, and headliner?

If you want the full race look yeah, but it won’t really shed much weight nothing super noticeable anyway. I wouldn’t I think it looks better with the full interior minus the back seats.

Do you plan on tracking this vehicle extensively?

No. If it was a full blown race car yeah. But from what I’ve seen its mechanically stock and shedding 50 pounds wont be noticeable

If it’s solely for racing, then by all means, go right ahead.

well, for me its up to how much of the interior do you want to be left. if it was me id leave the center console (for armrest), dash and replace front seats. everything else is gone. including the sound deadening

Depends. If you plan to take your car to the track frequently, go “weight reduction, bro” to your heart’s content. But if you plan on using it as a daily driver, I strongly suggest not going for that idea. (With a daily driver, you definitely don’t want to yank the A/C out, either. I personally think that the four-point harness is a bit overkill for a daily driver, but that’s just my opinion.)

I think the going to shows stripping it would maybe be unnecessary in my opinion.

If you’re planning on using it just as a race-car/weekender then why not. Every kg lost is an increase in power:weight (regardless of how small).

If you want any kind of comfort left for driving it on the streets tho….. May wanna reconsider.
