here is proof that they bought the car with that plate. although it was changed, it was changed back in 2001 so unless this was extremely well planned (which i highly doubt) it was literally a coincidence!

Looks like it was changed back to the original plate. In any case, the show wasn’t even started until 2002!

I do agree its a coincidence, the last owner claimed the plate came with the car, and also I heard that 928 GTs are very rare, I do not think that they have much to choose from.

Was I the only one who noticed May look nervously at Jezza’s car when he mentioned something about the Falklands war near the beginning?

Amazing fun and catchy as always . But after seen this i have to do a consideration , in this show i watched three aged men enjoying an hard travel througt a beautiful country in three cars , i really REALLY don’t get the Argentina mob against them . I can argue the license plate could in some articulate way resamble to a war that involved two countries but , to all Argentina people don’t get angry on that it’s just my personal consideration , there is something really far away from right in attacking people that were there only for entertaining purpose . Plus the infamous 928 license plate , both James and Richard already explained the way they got it .so please , step forward and think again if that is the right way to deal whit it . FYI as i watched a lot of them shows , i can bet an arm in the end or trought the special they will do a tribute to the lost people in that war . They did in Vietnam and Africa .

But in the end we are sure of one thing: there will never be a Top Gear: Argentina.

such a beautiful place! almost stopped breathing due to laughter a few times, even although we had all seen the YT clips that was brutal. And the officials would have known about the cars 3.5 ton of equipment 3 cars and filming doesn’t go without 6million bits of paperwork and hundreds of phone calls confirming it was Ok to film. Disgusting how a small minority can ruin your view of such a beautiful country

They were in a sketchy situation… the crew really are professionals and they did what they had to brilliantly escape the mobs… Good job to them!

Anyone else thought that if it was a bunch of argentines in the uk and they got attacked like that, it would be classed as a “major racist attack” and the people throwing bricks would be arrested

Seeing the Mustang has been modified, maybe James changes the wheels. IIRC, they also have a taller tire.
