A tubular spaceframe is: relatively easy to manufacture individually, can be made in such a way that it acommodates a different engine etc, can be stiffened easily with further/thicker tubes but there is no protection against penetration (e.g. a branch of a tree could pass right through) monocoque constructions on the other hand can be mass-produced easier and are optimized by the OEM to have the best safety and weight properties for road applications but cannot be stiffened / strenghtened that easily and it is also very difficult to make drastic changes. Hope that helps :)

I forgot: it is also relatively easy to make a light tubular frame, that is why it is the number one solution for one-off racecars and in combination with a roll cage (or built-in rollcage) it offers high levels of safety which can only be topped by Carbon-monocoques.
