I grew up next to Goodwood Motor Circuit, and every weekend when I was little my Dad and I would drive down to the edge of the circuit, and I’d sit on his shoulder and watch over the fence!
He always had cool cars when he was younger, and listening to his mad tuning stories must have had some effect on me!
By the time I knew this was a car thing, I’m already on it…
It started with toy cars. Something like Hot Wheels but more chinese. All types from metal cars to “Kinder surprise” cars. Then a local TV channel began broadcasting WRC highlights. I was introduced to PC gaming, then the F&F was released. A couple years later I went to highschool in a bigger city. I saw my first hillclimb event there. fast forward I went to university in our capital city and started going to more automotive events and met a lot nice people and made some good friends. Now I am sitting in front of my PC and writing this cheesy comment.
My dad n uncle were into motorsports. So thats explains some of it. According to my earliest memories as a 3 year old, my dad would take me for a short ride on his Yamaha every morning before leaving for office . I still remember the wind blowing over my hair and face and me sitting there with a wide smile. Also, I would love to play with toy cars. Owned and trashed 1000s of them. And then one day when I was 10, I accidentally found a small Countach pull back model at home. I had never seen anything that bbeautiful with wheels on it. Since then I caught the Lambo fever.
I have always loved cars since I was a kid but I wasn’t into cars like I am now. My first car was a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue(not my choice) . Well one of my friends had a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero. We were both sitting in my biology class and he was talking all sorts of crap about how his Alero was faster than my Intrigue. Well I looked up the specs of each of the cars and found out my car has the faster zero to sixty and quarter mile times are faster. I went back to school the next day to tell him that he was wrong my car was faster. Well we ended up street racing after school and I won. That is what got me into cars.
When I was a kid, my dad showed me a calendar with all these american muscle cars. I was interested from the first day, and then whenever we rode down a back road, I would just start naming off random cars and that was kind of a game to me. Thats when my passion started
Burnout 3 and Revenge. My first games ever.
Hot Wheels… And engine sounds 💚
Le mans
My grandfather was a mechanical engineer, and so loved classic American and British cars. When I was 3 he started taking me to classic car shows weekly, usually letting me see the engine bay and explaining the basics to me. As I got older I got more curious and so he would spend hours with me using my model cars as examples explaining what everything did. As I got older he passed away, and I became utterly fascinated with cars. I’ve owned my own car since I was 16, bought with my own money. Sometimes I wonder if my love of cars is hereditary. (BTW Hello from Canada)
