The argument I hate is “My Supra is faster than your Ferrari”. Yes, your Supra may have 850bhp and max out at like 210mph, however it still LOOKS like a Supra, it still SOUNDS like a Supra and it is still BUILT as a Supra. Whilst I do have love for (tastefully) modded cars, jap and not, supercars and hypercars will always have my heart.
How many 200mph supras are there tho? I’m sure its more like my supra could be as fast as your ferrari if I actually got up off my arse and spent not far off what it costs to buy a 200mph car!
I love a good supercar, I suppose people don’t like the image that comes with it. Somebody that has asupra and modded the crap out of it, we can relate to and can imagine undertaking similar projects ourselves. Most of us will never be able to relate to having free reign over a huayra, let alone modding it to our hearts content. I guess ‘attainable’ cars are just mor relatable for most us. That said, if somebody offered me a 208GTO, 650S LT or an 850bhp supar, 1000bhp r32.. I can assure you it would be one of the first two i’d take home..
Yeah image must be a big factor but maybe those are the people who are really image obsessed. I care about driveability and I’m sure everyone who buys a supercar has some fun in it.

I don’t “hate” on any car really, the whole point of car culture is to enjoy what you like in cars. If you want to buy a super car or even dream about them there is nothing wrong with that. However super cars are boring, badly built, hard to maintain, expensive, look at me, hogwash. :)
Super cars tend to be what people who don’t know about cars like; either little kids who just think the car is awesome or family members who know you like cars and so spend ages quoting rubbish they heard off top gear about super cars, which actually bores me more then them just talking about the new shade of paint they chose for the hall.
There are people that like cars and there are petrol heads. People who like cars like super cars. Petrol heads like taking a gearbox apart or at least like to know how one works.
Now someone argue with me and stop tip toeing around subjects like everyone else does on CT.
I mean I get it but I disagree with you on 2 points. Firstly you don’t need to be a mechanic to be a petrolhead. I race MR2s and I’ve done elementary repairs myself of course but if my gearbox broke screw taking it apart. Not for me. Secondly boring? I drive an mp4-12c a few nonths ago and jesus christ thar car was unbelievable. It’s now my dream to own one and thrash it to death on a track. I don’t know how a self proclaimed petrolhead could call it a boring car. It was like piloting a hyperspeed space ship from the future!
Never see a guy who hate supercar here to be honest,personally like them,it’s just fanboys that think they’re favorite car is superior than other cars like,”A GTR can beat that Huayra easily.” This is the type of guy that i hate,supercars may be expensive,but that will worth it because you can get a 600 hp+ car without a need of modding,it’s not practical,yes,some at least,because some supercars are built for daily driving too like the FF and Bentleys,it’s just some narrow minded people who hates this kind of car,even majority of non car guys like the Veyron,it’s a supercar too,no,it’s a hypercar. Those kind of people is just trying to get attention or they think hating supercars is cool on the internet,you know it. And here’s a picture of my favorite British supercar,wait,it’s a hypercar,ah,they’re almost the same anyway.

I don’t think many people here hate the supercars, but if they did, I think it has more to do with the owners (or they typical profile) than it does with the actual machine.
