What car completely changed your perceptions of something?

For me, it was the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 that changed my perception of American cars. I’ve always dismissed ‘Murican cars as, for me, life is more than just a straight line. Corners are where the fun is at.

For me, it was the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 that changed my perception of American cars. I’ve always dismissed ‘Murican cars as, for me, life is more than just a straight line. Corners are where the fun is at. But then the Z/28 came along and even the most biased European had to sit up and take notice. And it even looks stunning, too.

We want to know what car completely changed your opinion about something. Perhaps it was an electric car that converted you from ICE, a manual that made you realise sometimes auto is the answer, or perhaps a manufacturer you hated made something epic. Let us know in the comments and we’ll share the best!

Gonna have to go with the BMW 2002. I always idolized 240s and e90 m3s but as soon as I saw a 2002 in person I realized that there is something so much better than anything else. Its slow, and I’ve never driven one but I imagine its got a ton of body roll, but it has to be one of the most beautiful cars ever made. It’s what really started the love for classic beamers and Nissan 2000 gt’s . I never liked classic American muscle but it showed me that classics really can be better than everything made now.

Ford Escort Mk1.

I always loved high performance cars, be it a muscle car, a race car, a supercar, or a modified JDM. But the Escort… I find it so beautiful, and then it reminded me that you don’t need a heavy punch to enjoy driving fast.

Yeah, the same philosophy applies to cars like the MX5, but then… Ford fanboyism. :v

It won’t be the most original answer but it was the Tesla Model S for me and the fact that it’s a big hit in Norway just surprised me.

Toyota Prius. I realized that some hybrids don’t make the cut. Le Mans Audi R-18 E-tron Quattro does.
