What's an underrated engine that deserves some time in the limelight? I'd like to put forward the Toyota 3S-GE 'Beams' engine. Probably overshadowed by the 2JZ, but it's super revvy, tuneable, and produced with Yamaha.

I’d say H22 redtop and F22 lots of Honda owners prefer K series or B series for all motors. But some guy exploited F22 and mods the hell out of it and produce 400bhp latest info i’ve got some produce 780bhp didn’t check it yet.

I think Volvo five-bangers should deserve more attention. I’m kinda biased ‘cause I’ve been in one, though

I currently own a Volvo 850, it is quite revvy and fun, I’m even amazed after 20k miles of hard driving, it won’t even die! (At 220k miles right now). BUT, for an NA, they are lackluster at highway speeds with an auto. So it tends to end up with me grinding my teeth for the lack of acceleration power.

The best engine in the world is the vagina. It takes any size piston, self lubricates, starts with one finger & does its own oil change every thirty days.
What more could you ask for…the vagina is the best engine

VW VR5’s apparently packed quite the punch in the V5 Boras, I think their reputation was tarnished by reliability issues though. Another one is the Subaru EJ251, might be slightly biased because I drive one, but they have a bit of grunt behind them and not ALL of them had head gasket issues…
