Jesse's Jetta From The Fast And The Furious Just Sold For $42k
Owning a motorised piece of Fast and Furious memorabilia isn’t something that’s all that affordable. The orange Toyota Supra from the first film sold for $185,000, and the Nissan 350Z featured in Tokyo drift was up for grabs not so long ago for an even higher price. More than you can afford pal, in other words.
However, this car here - the VW Jetta driven by character Jesse, appearing in one scene with an apparent lack of front brake callipers - sold at Barrett Jackson’s Scottsdale auction on Thursday for a much more reasonable $42,000 (£29,400, brakes included).
The catch? Well, it’s not exactly a 10 second car, with a mostly standard 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine under the bonnet, hooked up to a humble four-speed automatic gearbox. However, it does come with signatures from Paul Walker, F&F director Rob Cohen and Chad Lindberg (who played Jesse, in case you’ve never heard of him).
Its most recent owner is former Malcolm In The Middle star Frankie Muniz - if that makes a difference - and there is also a Playstation 2 hooked up in the cabin for anyone wanting a semi-retro gaming fix…

His dad finally got out of Jail but as a large percentage of criminals that get out of Jail eventually commited another crime and needed the money for lawyers, which is why the Jetta went up for auction :)
$42k worth of rice.
Don’t forget to add the cost of brake calipers.
Wait, 4 speed automatic?? Then wheres the 42 speed manual used in the film?
They obviously took it out because it’s a very well guarded secret on how they managed to fit 42 different gearings in such a “small” gearbox without breaking anything.
Were the front calipers sold separately?
I think it would be even more worthy if it was the VR6 Version, i guess, i mean 42k for a 4 cylinder is kinda OP heh
