The SR20DeT! Featured in 200SX S13, S14 and S15. A buddy of mine got nearly 500 whp from it, and it is very reliable. He has nearly 2,5 bar boost, and he has driven 10000 kilometers that way.

Not saying it’s the best, there are better. But a very underrated engine is the VW group AWP 1.8t 20 valve. Despite some oil problems, that thing can make some pretty good power with relatively cheap mods.
