What's everyone's opinions on car bras? Functionality, not looks.

I put a lot of mileage on my Focus, and as a result have some paint chips. Those will all be gone soon, as it’s getting a new front end. Should I put a bra on it, when I do long highway trips? Will it scuff the paint, or do any other damage?

I think a bra would work well for short term trips. I’ve also heard of people wrapping their bumper, hood, and fenders with a clear coat of wrap which is more expensive but in theory protects more

The clear wrap would be ideal, but would cost far more than a traditional bra.

In my opinion, they look awful. But I believe it would definitely help protect your car, given your situation of making long trips regularly. It’s more important to protect the car, rather than it looking prettier. But don’t forget to remove it once the trips are over XD

Definitely would have to remember to get it off each time. Wouldn’t want it on for long. LoL

Also depends on the color of your car. It’s possible that your color is fading and under the bra it isn’t so there is a difference in your color. I also prefer some paint chips than a bra since I don’t like the looks personally

It’s a black car, so I’m going to doubt that a couple of days will produce any notable differences in colour fading. Also, you’d rather have a bunch of chips permanently than have a bra on for a couple of days every couple of months?

Leather bras are removable and reusable. Clear ones are not.

If youre not driving long distances or off road, it seems a little pointless

As I said in the post, I occasionally do rather long trips.

Why don’t you put a paint protection film instead? They’re self healing and look like the front of your car has nothing on it.

I have a black car, so those sticker ones are rather noticable.

To each his own. It’s a functional item.

I wish I would have put a bra on my car because I have a huge paint chip on my hood

I have quite a few. 500,000 in six years does that. LoL
