Forced induction is allowed.

Aerodynamic Mods are allowed.

The Geo Metro must be kept FWD.

The track is Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

(The 2016 Dodge Viper ACR holds the current production car lap record with 1:28.65.)

Your target time is 1:50

Swap motor for a hayabusa unit. Throw some super fat sticky tires, stiff springs, and racing compound pads, 1:50 no problem. I’ve actualy heard of people putting snowmobile engines in the back of these and winning chumpcar races with them.

Yup, seen the swap done on a peugeot 106 on a hillclimb car and it was a monster, but that was converted to rear wheel drive with the engine right behind the driver and definitely more than 5000 spent for the chassis work alone xD.

Wide wheels and road legal slick tires. R14 215/40 ~600$ (good to have small wheels)

GM ecotec supercharged swap out of a cobalt. With the boost turned up you’re looking at 400bhp. Wider front tyres with slicks all round, chopped springs for a lower centre of gravity and a front splitter. Now the hackery. Take off the bonnet, smash out the window glass, chuck out the rear seats and passenger seat. Remove interior trim and the spare wheel. Bam.
