It’s simple, We’re calling the Stig and Giving him all the money. And not the new, excuse of a Stig, the original og magician of a driver Stig.
There are a couple of U.S. laws about motor swaps that will make this extremely difficult. You can only use a motor from the same manufacturer and it must be of the same model year or newer. Not only that it has to be inspected and approved. If you add F.I. you are not road legal anymore, If you modify the exhaust you are not road legal anymore, if you modify any emissions related equipment you are not legal anymore. If you are going to give us a challenge at least make it feasible.
It depends on the state. The only place ive ever had a problem with having a modified car was in california because i couldn’t pass smog due to having california illegal parts. Inspections dont exist in every state. Registered the car in michigan no problem. No inspection.
strip everything out. remove seats, insert 5.0 Litre V8 from the Agera.
send power to front wheels, but mount steering colounm to the rear wheels. drive it backwards! also get some thicker tyres. and a sparco racing seat. top it off with an air freshener.
Trade my Metro for a Swift ‘cause they’re the same car. Swap in a G16 short block ($200 from any Suzuki Sidekick owner) under a G13B head ($150 on most Suzuki forums). Port the head in the garage ‘cause I’ve got a dremel (free) and then have a healthy 140hp combo. Run a budget boost system from DWR for a Suzuki Samurai ($900) and then run a happy 210hp. Get some junkyard 15” wheels ($10/ea at my local yard) and smack some reasonable tires on. My local shop has a buy 2 get 2 deal… Figure some Falken ZE950s ($65/ea). Strip the interior (even more weight reduction) and while it’s apart weld up all the chassis seams ($25 for wire and gas, I already own a welder) to get a cheap cage alternative. Get some custom coils ($200/ea) to drop it and stiffen the ride. Install some KYB GR2 struts ($80/ea) for the stiffer valving to work with the springs.
Maybe this wasn’t a hard challenge for someone who has his own suite of shop tools?
weight reduction, sell the things you pull outta the car,get some better tyres, give the timer guy the rest of my money,wa la,a 1 second lap
Sell it get a cheap mustang run everybody over
And say i done under 1:50 (no people left to say otherwise)
Tune the shocks/stiffer springs for around 500$ a ecotec from a colbalt SS for 3500, eBay turbo kit 500$~ a set of half used slicks for the front 400, a shot of nitrous for 100$ and a crudely made fiberglass splitter from scrapes, than mad weight reduction.
The Ford Duratec V6-powered Geo Metro of the Knoxvegas Lowballers was done for less than $500. With the rest of the budget I am sure we can get it to pass for street legal!
