Here are 5 surprisingly cheap fast cars. (Click for full list!)
Every petrolhead loves browsing the classified advert sites of the interwebs dreaming about their next car. I like to think of it as a lazy yet enjoyable form of guilt-free window shopping.
What I really love though, is stumbling across something that surprises me, something that makes me shout in a very British way, “blimey that’s cheap!”
Here are five real drivers’ cars that have recently made me do exactly that. I’ve also written in a quick conversion for USD and Euros. Can you think of any more? If so, post them up in the comments!

“Alpina” and “restricted” are two words that don’t match as far as I know…
Correct me if I’m wrong…
You’re right! And I’ve edited appropriately :)
you can add the boxster, wich will be slightly cheaper than a cayman !
I contemplated adding the Boxster, but wanted to focus on the most popular fast stuff for now. We can always make another article next week if this becomes popular. :)
Finally a CT staff thinks about the guys on the other side of the pond and puts USD conversions. Thank you! Heres a cookie
damn this cookie looks so delicious
I will take this cookie good sir! I thank you.
All i want is a km/h conversion every time speed is mentioned. Tired of pressing the calc button on my keyboard and multiplying by 1.6
its not really “cheap” but its a freaking R8 which was like 150000 € ? Something like that…
The V8s sold around ~120000€, but still a bargain IMO.
You can pick up a 10 year old Jaguar XJR for around £6000 now ,much more powerful and quicker than any of the cars listed there.
Very true!
until something breaks , then you have to spend a lot of money to fix it.
The cars them self may be cheap, but all of them bar the Subaru still having running costs to match the original price tag, that’s what a lot of people tend to forget when buying this type of car.
indeed, that’s why I don’t like the new vs used argument.
The Cayman would be pretty solid too I would imagine
Which car would hold up and be more reliable? Money’s on subaru, agree?
I think the Alpina would be pretty good too.
I wish I was paid to scroll through classifieds, its all I do anyway XD
E46 330i (0-100km for 6.5sec) olnly for 2500 euro

No R Volvos? I am dissapointed.
