The Ontario Government wants to put a ban on aftermarket parts in Ontario and we need to stop them

Please, even if you aren’t from Ontario, as car enthusiasts we need to stick together to face problems like this.

The law that is apparently going to be put in place is called the “OEM or Illegal” law

I wonder what got the Ontario government into thinking this was a good idea.
(Now there is just going to be sleepers everywhere.)

I feel for you bro. I wish I could help. This is stupid.
On a humorous note, this bill is the actual “worst case Ontario”

Not fair that governments can limit you on so many things that you can and can’t do in a car that YOU BOUGHT YOURSELF and pay to drive on the road. If they want to do this they should buy everyone a car lol

I am pretty sure that this can not happen

  1. Ontario has a huge car scene, anyone would know this from going to import fest, an annual car meet which contains so many highly tuned cars
  2. There are a lot of tuning shops in Toronto and this bill would effectively ruin their businesses
  3. There is no reason to ban car parts, anyone can speed in any car….

Hmmm, yes, I have seen stock 1992 Toyota Tercels being driven at 160 km/h… And modified Subaru cars being driven at 100 km/h on 401. Like, who does that? Well, and co., actually. Ontario Subies are very responsible on 401…

Best of luck with this! If this ever happened where I lived I would be so sad…. Even for non-car enthusiasts this is bad news. By forcing cars to be OEM only they’re eliminating competition. Prices for simple parts will jump up immediately.
