The Ontario Government wants to put a ban on aftermarket parts in Ontario and we need to stop them

Please, even if you aren’t from Ontario, as car enthusiasts we need to stick together to face problems like this.

The law that is apparently going to be put in place is called the “OEM or Illegal” law

Oh ffs, go actually read the thing before you all go running around screaming the sky is falling..

All theyve done is update the inspection regs.. Common sense stuff like tires cant hit bodywork etc..

All this petitioning, name calling, hand wringing and cryin just makes the car scene look like a bunch of whiny children..

Do your research and find key points to focus complaints about..

woah woah woah… i keep seeing this post shared and I think most of you haven’t read it. Before you comment read it through. IT DOES NOT BAN EVERYTHING NOT OEM. what it does however is say that certain safety parts must be within OEM spec, this also includes the repairing of wheels. In fact it actually helps us car guys get rid of the brutal rice boxes that ruin the scene, you now must have 25mm of tire-fender gap (that is more than enough to properly stance your car but sorry hella flush crew) and it also makes HID in reflector housings illegal (THANK LAWD). The ONLY thing you people can complain about is the ban on spacers, but lets be honest, wheel manufactures make wheels in so many offset specs now, just buy the correct offset and you will be fine, in addition, if you are running 1-5mm spacers I doubt it will even be visible during inspection!
Honestly this isn’t the liberals turning our province into a jail for car lovers, it is the government adjusting its laws in order to combat the stupid stuff people do with their cars, if you have a problem with that, sorry that is how society works, if we allow people to camber their cars out, have wheels stickout using eBay spacers and run zero travel then we are compromising the safety of others on the road.

Just build a nice clean car that isn’t obnoxious and you won’t have a problem. End of Story.

I don’t care what kind of cars people drive.. Or what mods are what the point is that we love our cars we have a passion.. I can be driving my pontiac wave around at 150 km/h and no one really bats an eye. And then I can hop into my Jetta vr6 and do the same and people flip.. Cars are cars just let us do what we want . Its not like we are trying to take away all the stupid tv shows out there because they suck.. Some people like them and others don’t. Who the hell cares. We want our cars and our cars want us.
