Would an R32 Skyline be a good first car in Canada? I found one close to me for 7k, not lowered, manual and it's AWD so it's perfect for snow! Should i?

Unless you’re in B.C, the winter will kill it quickly. Even if it isnt lowered, it’s still pretty low to begin with and they do not do well with road salt either. It’d probably only be realistically driveable for about half the year.

Good luck finding insurance :)also rhd would be pretty bad for a first car here in canada. do it if you want but i wouldn’t reccommend it. Also rust would be prevalent since these cars were made for japan, so i wouldn’t drive it in winter.

No but seriously if you are a certain age literally no one will insure you

Even in Ontario, where we have the 2nd highest insurance premiums or something, you can still get insured with rhd. I have a friend in his early twenties with Celica gt-Four paying ~200 a month with state farm. In Canada, as long as you have a valid driver’s license and a roadworthy car, you have the right to insurance by someone

Coat the underside. Even if you don’t plan to drive in snow/salty conditions. It’s a cheap job and will preserve the car so much better.

i recently bough a r32 gts25 with the rb25 non turbo engine. im 18 in australia and so turbo is not allowed for first four years of license. my point is its been a pain to get on the road because it is an old car and they have so many problems, but the pure joy of driving it is just worth it.

Of course most will tell you no. If you have the funds, and you know you will respect the power, go for it. I bought my first Corvette when I was 16. I never noticed the cops steady looking at me. Yes, I got into an accident. Wasn’t because I was racing. Yes, it was my fault. Just be careful and remember this, always drive the car you really want to drive. Good luck!

Even though its awd its still a pretty low car and insurance might be an issue
