Would an R32 Skyline be a good first car in Canada? I found one close to me for 7k, not lowered, manual and it's AWD so it's perfect for snow! Should i?
Look if your willing to deal with cops, insurance and the constant temptation to push your limits go for it but be aware that I wouldn’t recommend this most the time as has been proven before going straight to a performance car usually ends badly. In the end it is your choice and you have to decide if the temptation is worth the risk.
Every car can be a good first car. But please, drive with your mind and not right foot! My first car was an 04 wrx, couldn’t insure it on my own name. Titeled to dad’s. Being a powerful car, I’ve had the car for 5 years and have never gotten a speeding ticket in that car. Mainly because people already know it’s fast, it’s (too) loud and it just stands out. So cops will notice you a lot sooner! I’ve had 2 tickets with that car for noise.. (we’re allowed to have 81 on the impreza, i had 95) which are really pricy.. 2nd car is a daily, daihatsu cuore, soon after that I bought a R34 for the weekends/special occasions. Have to admit, I drive that car a lot faster than the Subaru.. It’s very easy to get it up to 150/160 and cruise. Where in the Subaru it was pretty loud because boxer rumble. I will never ever take my 34 out when it’s snowing or raining. But that’s me haha. If you can drive with common sense, please take the car. It’s my best car so far and absolutely LOVE it. And if anyone tells you RHD sucks, It’s seriously only +-50km on highway to get used to the place on the road(you drive too much to the left af first hah). And about the same distance on smaller roads to shift a lot and get used to that.
Toll roads are gonna be annyoing as a fudge stuck in a toaster. Otherwise awsum
If you are a JDM fan, then yeah I would buy instantly. ‘Course, I love the Skyline so I would buy this.
Get it just to make pedestrians happy. Every time I see a Skyline in Ottawa (R32 and R33), it makes my day. Do it for the local car enthusiasts… and yourself obviously.
