Chevrolet has now released a vehicle which will certainly appeal to those looking at the latter of those two markets: the stunning new 2011 Chevrolet Captiva.

This will add an additional $9 to the average driver’s auto insurance each month. Britain has witnessed even more severe insurance increases with UK price comparison service Moneysupermarket.com reporting a price rise of over 40% for the average British driver in 2010.

Another 365 days has come and gone folks, and it's now time to reflect on Car Throttle 's busiest year ever (well, it's only our second year in existence, but whatever). The past twelve months have seen us form partnerships with some of the largest manufacturers on the planet, has seen our team increase in size and our reputation grow across the world wide web.

Car Throttle , as well as most of the automotive world, is slowly winding down in time for the Holidays after an extremely busy year. Whilst this is no fitting place to lay tribute to a cracking 2010 (that round-up will be with you before the end of the month), I along with the team do want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. Rest up and if you are heading out - especially in the Northern Hemisphere where the weather has turned for the worse - please drive safely!

Since we launched back in January 2009 we've had some pretty special milestones here at CarThrottle ; our 100th commenter, our 50,000th visitor and the growing recognition that CarThrottle is one of the leading performance car websites emerging onto the automotive scene. Recently, our scale has changed and we've managed to score an offline promotion and competition that I'm sure some of you are going to jump at the chance of entering.

Another few months have passed here at Car Throttle, and I thought it would be best to share some of the highlights and not-so-great moments from behind-the-scenes with the community here . In short, we've really pushed the boundaries in terms of content production, have seen 5 high definition wallpapers go live and pull in huge traffic, have experienced hosting difficulties and significant down-time, and have had traffic highs - all in an extremely small space!

I'd like to introduce a new column here at Car Throttle which shall be named Supercar Sightings . In this editorial, I will be taking a look at various supercars I come across on my daily excursions around where I live in Surrey, UK.

It's fair to say that Car Throttle has been through a significant amount of change since we officially launched back in December 2008 .
